Asus appears to be working on a line of Lenovo Yoga-style convertibles which transform from laptops into tablets when you push the screen back 360 degrees until it’s back-to-back with the keyboard. One model is the 13.3 inch Asus TP300L which showed up at the FCC in early May.

At the time, detailed specs weren’t available — but now the folks at Mobile Geeks have dug up some more details, and it looks like the Asus TP300L will be a fairly powerful computer with an Intel Haswell CPU and NVIDIA graphics.

Retail listings for the Asus TP300L paint a picture of a computer with a 13.3 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel toucshcreen display, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid state drive. It runs Windows 8.1 64-bit software, features WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI output, and 2 USB 3.0 ports.

The machine features an Intel Core i7-4510U processor and NVIDIA GeForce 820 graphics.

It’s not clear if that means every model in the new Asus convertible lineup will feature discrete graphics (or Core i7 chips, for that matter). Asus is also expected to launch a 15.6 inch model or two. But at least on this model, it looks like the dedicated graphics card might be one feature that helps set the Asus 2-in-1 system apart from Lenovo’s Yoga line of convertible laptops which feature a similar design.

  1. It’s only an 820, is that even worth it for the additional power consumption?

  2. Go Asus! They’re always the first to release ultrabooks with descrete graphics. 1080p is fantastic but I wish they would increase the resolution to make this laptop stand out above the Yoga series.
