Solid state storage prices have been steadily falling over the past few years, but most entry-level ultrabooks and tablets still come with just 32GB to 128GB of storage. Need more space — or want some removable storage?

TigerDirect is running a sale on PNY USB flash drives and SDXC cards, letting you pick up 256GB of removable storage for just $100.

Or if you want faster, permanent storage, you can grab a 240GB 2.5″ SSD to replace the storage in your system for the same price.

  1. I don’t know if it’s me but it seems that many new products
just don’t have the quality they used to. Brands like
PNY, Samsung, Asus seem to have stumbled recently and
have had many bad or low-rated reviews by end users
    on Amazon, Newegg, etc.

Asus’s VivoTab RT has build quality issues, and
there are keyboard issues with the T100 and T300
    Windows 2-in-1s. Samsung’s ATIV Smart PC x86

Windows device has many problems as well.

Dell’s Venue 8 Pro has a lot of complaints (granted,

Dell hasn’t been a quality maker in decades) as well.

Consumers are unhappy that Dell isn’t fixing the problems.

Dell isn’t alone, as fellow 8″ Windows tablet makes
Toshiba and Lenovo also generated many complaints.

This makes me wonder if the coming crop of $99/$60
Widows tablets are a disaster waiting to happen. Maybe
things can be priced too low.

There seem to be a lot of refurbs of HP’s Split X2

2-in-1, even of the Haswell variety (HP isn’t known

for turning out quality stuff for decades either).

Only Apple and Microsoft seem to be largely hardware
    trouble-free this time.

      1. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, it’s a free
        country.

Just ignore this writer’s comment, and go buy
several of the products this writer mentioned.
