HP has been out of the smartphone game for a few years, but it looks like the company could be preparing its first Android-powered phone. Or maybe it’s a new tablet which just happens to make phone calls.
Either way, specs for an unannounced device called the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab have popped up, courtesy of the GFXBench website.
The name suggests we’re looking at a phone or tablet with a 6 inch screen and the ability to make phone calls. And the limited spec sheet suggests it’ll feature Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software and a 1280 x 720 pixel display.
It’s powered by a Marvell PX1088 ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with support for WiFi, Bluetooth, FM radio, and HSPA+ and LTE networks connections.
It doesn’t like the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab will be positioned to compete with high-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Instead it seems to have the specs of a budget or mid-range device.

I eagerly await the reports about HP’s latest bold new rebrand.
The name is too short. I suggest HP Carryaround Slate Pro 6 Images And Voice Tab Deluxe Thing You Can’t Live Without instead.
