Archos is launching a new 10 inch Android tablet with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and a keyboard cover. It’s called the Archos XS 2, and while it looks a lot like last year’s model, the new tablet has a lower price tag and should have a faster processor.
The Archos 101 XS 2 is expected to go on sale in the US this December for $279.
The Archos 101 XS 2 has a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, and dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
The tablet comes with a Coverboard, which is a thin magnetic cover that can also act as a keyboard and a kickstand for the tablet, letting you use it like a notebook or prop it up for watching movies.
Archos says the tablet will ship with Google Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, OfficeSuite Pro 6 software, and Archos Media Center software, among other apps. It’s a Google certified device with full access to the Google Play Store for apps, music, movies, books, and other content.
