ARM is introducing next-gen graphics technology for upcoming phones, tablets, and other devices. LG, Rockchip, and MediaTek have already signed up to license the new graphics technologies, which will likely appear in upcoming Android devices.

ARM Mali T700 series graphics

Mali-T720 is a GPU aimed at mid-range devices and it won’t exactly offering bleeding edge performance. But ARM says the new T720 GPU is 150 percent more efficient than Mali-400 graphics and offers a 50 percent performance boost.

The Mali-T760 GPU is aimed at high-end devices, and offers 400 percent more efficiency than the Mali-T604 GPU while boosting performance thanks to double the number of shader cores (for a total of 16), among other improvements.

Both chips support OpenGL ES 3.0 and DirectX 11, but more importantly, they both seem to be designed to offer better performance while using less power than the graphics processors found in many phones and tablets today.
