Oppo’s new N1 smartphone would be an intriguing phone by any standard, thanks to its large 5.9 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, and 13 megapixel N-Lens camera which rotates so you can use the same high-quality camera to frame photos or snap selfies.
But the Chinese phone maker’s new handset is also expected to be the first device to dual-boot Oppo’s Color OS version of Android and CyanogenMod.
While many folks have been keeping an eye out for the Oppo N1Â thanks to CyanogenMod support, Oppo is also playing up its own Color OS.
The software supports gesture-based navigation — for instance, you can swipe three fingers to launch the camera app. You can also use a touch-sensitive area on the back of the phone for O-Touch features such as playing the next song in the media player — which could make it easier to use your phone without pulling it out of your pocket.
As for the phone’s other big feature, the N Lens camera rotates up to 206 degrees and locks into place in any position. There’s also a small wireless remote control which you can use to control the phone’s camera without touching your phone.
The LED flash, image sensor, and all the other components of the camera are in a module attached to the top of the phone. It has an F2.0 aperture and includes 67 different components.
Opp says the rotating mechanism has been tested for up to 100,000 roll-overs without failing, which means you can rotate the camera 40 times a day for 7 years without breaking the mechanism.
All the other ports are on the bottom of the phone, including the USB port and headphone jack, to make room for the camera at the top.
The Oppo N1 features WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, will be available with 16GB to 32GB of storage and packs a 3610mAh battery. It has 2GB of RAM, a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor.
The phone measures 6.7″ x 3.3″ x 0.35″ and weighs 7.5 ounces.
Oppo’s new flagship phone is expected to sell in China for about $570.
Oh — and about that CyanogenMod software? It won’t be available when the phone launches in China in October or internationally in December. Instead there will be an option to flash CyanogenMod in the custom recoery.
Oppo also promises to offer a limited edition Oppo N1 CyanogenMod Edition with the software preloaded.

I’d love to get the CyanogenPhone, but that screen is just too big for me.
