Acer appears to be working on a new tablet featuring an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and a high resolution display. Notebook Italia uncovered benchmark results for an unannounced tablet called the Acer TA272HUL which apparently has a 1.8 GHz Tegra 4 CPU, Android 4.2.2 software, and a display that’s probably about 2560 x 1440 pixels.

The test results actually mention a 2560 x 1344 pixel display, but this sort of test usually displays the resolution incorrectly, becase some of those pixels are used by the Android menu bar.

The tablet also appears to have about 2 GB of RAM, and as you’d expect from a device with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor, it’s fast, scoring respectable marks in both the Nenamark and Passmark benchmarks.

Keep in mind, these benchmarks might not actually tell us much. Acer could be testing a prototype that will never make it to market. Someone could be playing a joke by running tests on a system that’s been modified to say that it’s an Acer device. Or it could be just exactly what it looks like — Acer may be running tests on a tablet that it hasn’t yet announced to the public.

  1. shame .. that’s too slow clock rate for a tegra 4 *tablet*.

    1. Tegra 4 are rated at 1.9Ghz max (which will be use in nvidia own shield). Other tegra 4 device like ZTE Geek also clocked at 1.8Ghz. The clock might look low but the architecture inside is quite fast. If the rumor about early benchmark were true the 1.9Ghz A15 inside tegra 4 is slightly ahead of qualcomm krait inside snapdragon 800 that clocked at 2.3Ghz.

      1. thank you. I confused it with the snapdragon 800 and was expecting ~2.2Ghz 🙂
