Acer recently started selling a 7.9 inch Android tablet called the Iconia A1 in Europe. Now it’s coming to America, where it will sell for just $169 and up. That makes it one of the most affordable tablets available from a major brand.
The Acer Iconia A1 features an iPad mini-like 1024 x 768 pixel IPS display, but this tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean instead of iOS.
It has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet has a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera, a micro HDMI port, and a 3250mAh battery which is said to offer up to 7 hours of run time.
The tablet sports a 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT8125 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor.
The tablet measures about 0.44 inches thick and weighs 0.9 pounds.
At the US launch event, Acer said the tablet would be available soon for $169. But in the official press release, Acer says the tablet has a suggested retail price of $199.99, which means that $169 may be a sale price. Or maybe MSRP Â just isn’t a useful number anymore.
you are wrong, acer has a 4960mAh https://www.acerstore.com.au/acer/ess/Iconia_A1.pdf
Looks like a deal, although the $199 would be a bit expensive for an 8-incher.
These manufacturers really feed into the apple craze! Come on acer get some real ideas flowing.
