JXD S5800 gaming tablets coming this summer

Chinese device maker JXD‘s Android tablets aren’t like those from most companies. They’re designed for playing video games, feature gamepad buttons built into the case, and some take their cues from handheld gaming consoles like the PlayStation Portable.

Archos may have the GamePad 7 inch tablet, but JXD has a whole family of inexpensive Android gaming devices — and it looks like we could see two more this summer.

Word on the street is that the JXD S5800 gaming handheld with a 5 inch display and Android-based operating system will be available around August.

The S5800 will reportedly come in two models:

  • JXD S5800 A with a dual-core processor
  • JXD S5800 B with a quad-core CPU

The higher-priced quad core model may also have an IPS display for wide viewing angles and 2GB of RAM. It’s not clear that the A model will have either of those features.

Or you could just pick up a JXD gaming tablet now. Willgoo offers a range of the company’s current machines including the JXD S7300, JXD 602, and JXD S5110 for prices starting as low as $66.

You can also find JXD tablets at PandaWill, AsiaPads, and other stores that ship Chinese electronic devices to the US.

    maybe a redesigned s5600?

The S7300 has been a lot of fun to tinker with, but it is turning out to be a decent daily driver as well!

I just wish I could get a decent flip-stand type case for it, but its dimensions are soo oddball that it’s very unlikely.
