Want to build a robot, digital signage system, or a low power computer? The Gizmo Explorer Kit is a $199 package that will let you do any of those things, and more.
At the heart of the kit is the Gizmo Board: a computer board featuring an AMD G-Series 6.4W processor and 1GB of RAM.
The board can also support Windows, Android, Linux, and other operating systems.
The Gizmo Board measures just about 4 inches by 4 inches, but packs a number of ports and connectors including VGA, Ethernet, SATA, USB, and JTAG, LVDS, and GPIO.
While the kit costs quite a bit more than a Raspberry Pi or some other low-power computing devices, it also packs much more power. It features an x86 processor and AMD Radeon 6250 graphics, and comes with additional hardware that lets you treat it as a system for building and testing embedded hardware and software solutions.
The kit also includes the Explorer Board expansion card with an LCD micro-display and additional connectors that allow you to add motors or other additional hardware to turn the kit into a hardware prototyping system.
