The netbooks have Intel Atom N2600 dual core processors, 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel displays, 1GB of RAM, and 320GB hard disks.

I picked up a Gateway LT4009u (with the 6-cell battery) for $180 2 weeks ago. I upgraded the RAM to 2GB for $12 and upgraded Windows 7 Starter to Home Premium for $25 (Amazon has it.) After the upgrades, I was able to use the HDMI port to my 1080p HDTV for a full resolution second display. I got it mainly for the long battery life for travel and to have an extra Windows 7 laptop since Windows 8 seems to be the new Vista, but it works so well for web browsing on the big screen that I use it daily. I still think the Mac Air is the acme, but for about $240 net-net-net the Gateway’s a good deal. Mine was a refurb, but it arrived in like-new condition.

We installed the “Android on eepc” into our MSI Wind netbook and now have an excellent Android experience; with keyboard and touch pad.
The update, though intended for eeepc, seems to work on most Atom based netbooks as well. Love it for a couch assistants.
