Foxconn introduces small, fanless desktop with AMD C-70 CPU

Manufacturer Foxconn is best known for building devices for Apple and other PC makers. But the company also sells a few computers, motherboards, and other products under its own name. One of the latest is the Foxconn AT-5570, a  small form-factor PC with an AMD C-70 low power processor.

This tiny desktop features a fanless design which means that it should be able to sit on your desk or near your TV without making any noise.

The computer has a 1 GHz AMD C-70 dual core CPU with a TDP of 9W. It doesn’t generate a lot of heat, and allows Foxconn to use a passive cooling solution.

But the chip also feature AMD Radeon HD graphics with support for HD video playback and DirectX 11 graphics.

The computer has a 2.5 inch bay for a hard drive or solid state disk and supports up to 4GB of RAM.

Interestingly, Foxconn says the system has Radeon HD 7290 graphics. Up until now I’d only seen the C-70 processor described as a chip with Radeon 6290 graphics. But if Foxconn’s product page is accurate, it looks like the difference between the AMD C-70 and last year’s C-60 chip may be the newer graphics core.

LOL its not meant to play games. This would run as a home theater pc/media server. Good luck playing graphics intense games on any of these low power solutions

my unit look just like this one but with e-350. I take it Mine is faster but with a crappier graphics chip.

I’ve got an Acer 522 laptop with the older, slower C-50. I’ve used it to play all the Half-Life 1 and 2 games, Crysis 1 and 2, Portal 1 and 2, Oblivion, Halo 1 and 2, and the Mass Effect trilogy. I also use it for Photoshop CS5 and some other miscellaneous graphics stuff. It won’t run any of the games at top settings, but AMD’s low-power APUs do a pretty good for the price.

Why do PC Gamers always want to play games on PC hardware no matter what? Just unrealistic, #SMH. This is perfect for console emulation, windows media center (Windows 7 or Windows 8). It will support Blu Ray and Flash HD no problem, low power, low power usage, save money. Borrow a Kill-A-Watt from the local library.
