Archos 80 XS tablet visits the FCC

The Archos 80 XS is a tablet with an 8 inch display and Rockchip RK3066 dual core processor. It has a 1024 x 768 pixel display and the tablet is up for pre-order in Europe for about 250 Euros.

While US pricing and release details haven’t been announced yet, the Archos 80 XS showed up at the FCC website this week, which is a pretty good sign that it’s on its way to the States.

Archos 80 XS

The FCC documents don’t tell us much about the tablet, but like the larger Archos 101 XS tablet which launched this summer, the Archos 80 XS is expected to be available with a keyboard case called a “coverboard.”

You can use the board as a magnetic screen cover, or flip it over and use the built-in keyboard to type on the 8 inch tablet.

The Archos tablet will likely ship with either Android 4.0 or Android 4.1, and in addition to the RK3066 processor it seems to have ARM Mali 400 graphics.
