Archos Arnova FamilyPad 13.3 inch tablet specs revealed
The Arnova FamilyPad is a new large-screen Android tablet from Archos. We spotted it at the FCC website this summer, and recently Archos Slovenia posted a few more details.
Now ARMDevices has posted a hands-on video showing the tablet in action. We finally have a detailed list of specifications for the 13.3 inch Android tablet.

Archos hasn’t announced a price for the tablet yet, but the company tends to use the Arnova brand name for its more affordable products. The FamilyPad also has a relatively slow (and inexpensive) 1 GHz Allwinner A10 ARM Cortex-A8 processor, which will help keep the price down.
Other specs include:
- 13.3 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display
- 10-point capacitive multitouch panel
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB storage
- 2MP front camera, 2MP rear camera
- Stereo speakers
- Built-in mic
- 2 USB ports, 1 mini HDMI port, 1 microSD card slot, audio jack
- 5-6 hours of battery life for web browsing, 8-10 hours when watching video
Archos will also offer a stand that lets you prop up the tablet for watching videos, reading recipes in the kitchen, or doing whatever else you plan to do with a 13.3 inch tablet that can stand up.
When you lie the tablet flat on the tablet, it’s a decent size for playing multi-player games, and you can check out a brief Glow Hockey match toward the end of the video.
The tablet is expected to launch in the next month or two. Archos may also offer a model with a higher resolution, 1440 x 900 pixel display.
