HP is positioning the new HP 3125 notebook as a portable laptop aimed at business customers. It has an 11.6 inch display, weighs about 3.5 pounds, and has a relatively low power AMD Brazos 2.0 processor.
If you feel like you’ve seen this laptop before, though, it’s because you have. This is basically the business version of the HP Pavilion dm1 I reviewed this summer.
So what does the business makeover give you? Basically the hardware hasn’t changed a bit, but HP will offer the laptop to enterprise customers with its business suite of software including HP Protect, disk encryption, and other security and IT management features.
It’ll also be available with the same backup and support tools and services HP offers for its EliteBook products.
The HP Pavilion 3125 will be available in October with a choice of Windows 7 or Windows 8.
If you want to pick one up for yourself… you can just buy a Pavilion dm1. It’s the same laptop, and with a starting price of $399, the consumer model will probably be cheaper than the HP 3125 anyway.
Shiny screen, yuk. No Sale…
I don’t know, I like the shininess. Matte is rather dull and it kind of starts looking yucky in used computers in my opinion.
