B&N NOOK with GlowLight gets a $20 price cut to keep up with Kindle Paperwhite
Barnes & Noble is slashing $20 off the price of the NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight eReader. When the company introduced the eReader with a built-in booklight in April, B&N set the price at $139. Now you can pick one up for $119.
That’s the same price as the new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.

Like B&N’s eReader, the Kindle Paperwhite has has a light. But it also has a higher resolution display and a screen that’s a bit closer to actually being white than the grayish displays we’re used to seeing in eReaders.
On the other hand, in order to get a Kindle Paperwhite for $119, you’ve got to put up with ads on the screen saver and home screen. Amazon charges $139 for a model without “special offers.”
One thing the NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight has going for it is that it’s available right now. Amazon is still taking pre-orders for the Kindle Paperwhite, and due to supply constraints, orders placed now aren’t expected to ship until the week of October 22nd.
