Asus is introducing a new line of Windows tablets… or at least new names for tablets the company first introduced in June.

At a press event in Germany today, Asus gave the Asus Tablet 600 and Asus Tablet 810 new names: Meet the Asus Vivo Tab and the Asus Vivo Tab RT.

Both tablets feature keyboard docking stations that let you use the machines like laptops. The keyboards also have their own batteries, letting you just about double the battery life you’d get if you were using the tablet along.

The concept isn’t entirely new — this is something Asus has been doing for the past few years with its Transformer line of Android tablets.

Asus still hasn’t announced the pricing for either mdoel.

Asus Vivo Tab

The Asus Vivo Tab is a Windows 8 tablet with an 11.6 inch display, a Super IPS+ display, and a next-generation Intel Atom processor. It has a 1366 x 768 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

This model also has a Wacom active digitizer, which means you can use a pressure-sensitive digital pen to write or draw on the screen. You can also use your fingers to navigate the touch-based Windows 8 user interface.

Asus says the tablet measures 0.34 inches thick and weighs about 1.5 pounds. It has a 2MP front-facing camera, an 8MP rear camera, and NFC (near field communication) technlogy.

Asus Vivo Tab RT

This tablet is a little smaller than the Vivo Tab, with a 10.1 inch Super IPS+ display. It’s also thinner and lighter, measuring 0.33 inches thick and weighing just over 1.1 pounds.

Under the hood, the Vivo Tab RT is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. This model also has a 1366 x 768 pixel display and 2GB of RAM, but just 32GB of storage.

The tablet runs Windows RT software, which is basically the version of Windows 8 designed for devices with ARM-based chips. That means the Vivo Tab RT won’t be able to run Windows apps designed for x86 processors — which is just about every app released before 2012. But the tablet will come with a version of Microsoft Office 2013 pre-installed.

Like the Vivo Tab, the Windows RT model will have a 2MP front-facing camera, an 8MP rear camera, and NFC.
