The A10 Media PC is a tiny computer with an Allwinner A10 ARM Cortex-A8 processor and 8GB of storage. Last month Cloudsto Electronics started offering a model with 512MB of RAM for £69.99.

Now there’s a model with 1GB of DDR3 memory available for £84.99.

A10 Media PC

Like the 512MB model, the new mini PC features an SD card slot, 2 USB ports, an Ethernet jack, WiFi, an HDMI port, and a wireless remote control.

The device is designed to run Google Android 4.0 and act as a media center — just add a TV and maybe a mouse or keyboard to start running Android apps, streaming internet video, or performing other tasks on a big screen TV.

But like many other mini PCs we’ve seen this year, the A10 Media PC is powered by an Allwinner A10 processor, which means it should also be able to handle Ubuntu, Fedora, and other Linux-based operating systems if you want to treat the little box like a real desktop computer.

Andy Kirby at RikoMagic UK recently posted this video showing the 512MB version in action.

  1. its all over alibaba and aliexpress .. sometimes in a red case called the tomato sometimes not .. not very exciting … the linux drivers and distro for these a10 devices are pretty poor .. until allwinner/mele release proper drivers and preferably a full linux source they will continue to be a poor hotch potch .. ijn particular the linux hardware graphics drivers are non existant and the sata drivers need to be updated (like those in meles android 4 have been) to work reliably with most sata drives (they dont at the mmt)
so far the best a10 device i have seen is the mele a1000/2000 with meles android 4 everything works well (incl sata and hardware graphics drivers) … come on now allwinner release a nice kernel source and drivers for linux and make devices like the mele shine !

  2. I’ve seen that casing in some Chinese websites before, but I can’t remember the model.

    Don’t diss the AV port.

  4. Finally! I have been waiting for something like the Mele A1000 (boxy form factor, RJ45 port) but with more RAM.

    The price though, ouch.
