A day after releasing the source code for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google is starting to push the new version of its mobile operating system to smartphones. Sometime in the next few days, owners of Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ phones should be prompted to install the update. That covers Galaxy Nexus smartphones that work on AT&T or T-Mobile networks in the US.
Android 4.1 includes speed enhancements, new search features, and speedier voice search capabilities.
Google Now is also included in the update, providing you with weather and traffic updates, sports scores, and other information depending on the time and your location.
While the update starts rolling out today, it will take a few days for all Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ devices to receive the new software.
Google will push Android 4.1 to Galaxy Nexus GSM devices, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus S, and Motorola XOOM soon as well.

Improved performance in video or search.
Screen is sluggish.
Do you know if they are planning on updating the Verizon version of this phone?
I am pretty sure they are, but they haven’t announced a timeframe yet. Recently the Verizon version has been getting closer to AOSP so hopefully it will get updated faster then it has in the past.
