CloudOn, an app that allows users to access, edit and save documents in Microsoft Office from an Android tablet or the iPad, recently added a few new features. It’s now also available in 60 new countries throughout Europe, South America and the Middle East.

The CloudOn platform connects users to a remote server where they can access the full version of Microsoft Office 2010, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Though the current version of Office isn’t as touch-friendly as a native tablet app would be, the ability to work on documents, spreadsheets and presentations without having to worry about formatting or compatibility issues is a big plus.

The only major drawback is that you have to be connected to the Internet in order for the app to work.

CloudOn can pull files from Box.net, Dropbox and Google Drive for editing, then save them back to your cloud account seamlessly. The latest update adds a few more welcome features, such as the ability to open email attachments directly in the app, support for dictation and the ability to open password-protected files.

CloudOn is a free download in the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. It requires users to sign up for a free account to access the service.

And now users in these countries can download the app: Albania, Algeria, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Bermuda, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands. Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus/Malta, Czech Republic, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, Estonia, Fiji, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Montserrat, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turks & Caicos, UAE, Ukraine, and the Virgin Islands.
