Amazon is bringing a social layer to games for the Kindle — as well as the ability to synchronize your game data with the cloud.

Amazon GameCircle

Today Amazon released a new set of tools that developers can use to add the new features to games for the Kindle Fire. It’s called GameCircle, and it includes three major features:

  • Sync: Your in-game progress is saved online, allowing you to pick up where you left off on another device, or after deleting and re-installing a game.
  • Achievements: You can view in-game achievements as well as goals that you haven’t yet met.
  • Leaderboards: See how your scores stack up against those of other gamers.

A few games already support the new features, including Temple Run, Doodle Jump, and Triple Town.
