The Acer Iconia Tab A100 is a tablet with a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, and support for Android 3.2 Honeycomb or Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Unfortunately some users have noticed that the tablet has a pretty lousy built-in microphone. So if you want to use the Iconia Tab A100 for voice or video chat, voice recording, or anything else that requires a mic you might want to use an external microphone — or crack open the case, void your warranty, and replace the internal microphone.
Xda-developers forum member Metallica 4 Life took the latter approach.
Once you pry off the plastic sides of the device you’ll need to remove 5 screws and then pry apart the case.
If anything breaks, you’re probably out of luck because there’s no way this is covered by a warranty, and good luck finding replacement parts.
But if you do managed to open up the tablet and aren’t scared of using a soldering iron, you can find the rest of the instructions for replacing the mic at the xda-developers forum.
By the way, you can pick up a refurbished Iconia Tab A100 from Buy.com for $190.

Hi,
My son dropped his tablet and cracked the screen. Do you know if it is possible to replace the screen and if so where to get one?
Thank you. My daughter had a pressure spot on her tablet. This helped me fix it.
