Asus will launch its first 10 inch netbooks with Intel Atom Cedar Trail chips in February. The Asus Eee PC 1025C will be available with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N2600 processor for $299, or a 1.86 GHz Atom N2800 CPU for $319.
The pricier model is called the Eee PC 1025CE.
Both models will feature 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel displays, 1GB of RAM, and a 32GB hard drive. The mini-laptops have VGA webcams, mic, headphone, VGA, and HDMI ports, plus SDHC card slots.
While both laptops have 6 cell, 56WHr batteries, the cheaper model actually gets slightly better battery life, with up to 10 hours and 12 minutes of run time. The Eee PC 1025CE has a faster processor which uses more power… but it’s still no slouch in the battery life department. Asus says it gets up to 9 hours, 38 minutes.
The 1025C model has 3 USB 2.0 ports, while the Eee PC 1025CE has 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port.
As expected, the new netbooks feature the Asus “flare” design, with a raised palm rest area. The Eee PC 1025C Â will be available in gray, blue, red, pink, and black, while the 1025CE will come in pink, blue, or purple.
The netboks measure 10.3″ x 7″ x 1.3″ and weigh 2.7 pounds.
When in february will it be available?
