ARchos 80 G9

Archos has announced that it will offer a Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Archos 101 G9 10 inch tablet and Archos 80 G9 tablet during the first week of february. Both tablets currently ship with Honeycomb.

The company says it will also soon have faster versions of the tablets available with dual core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP4 processors. Archos currently offers the G9 tablets with a choice of a 1 GHz or 1.2 GHz dual core CPU.

The Archos 80 G9 has an 8 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display while the 101 G9 has a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display. Both tablets have been available for a number of months for $300 and up.

Archos will also soon offer the Archos 70b tablet with Android 4.0 for $199. That model has a 1 GHz single-core processor and a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display.
