HP has confirmed that the HP Folio ultrabook that broke cover in Australia yesterday is also headed to the US. The thin and light laptop wil go on sale December 7th for $899 and up.
The HP Folio has a 13.3 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, weighs 3.3 pounds, and measures about 0.7 inches thick. HP says it will get about 9 hours of battery life, feature 4GB of RAM, a 128GB solid state drive, and an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor.
Like other ultrabooks Acer, Lenovo, and Toshiba, the HP Folio features Intel’s “Rapid Start Technology” for quickly resuming from sleep. Asus has a similar feature, but the company gives it a different name.
The HP Folio also uses HP’s CoolSense technology to help keep the computer cool (and comfortable when placed on your lap), as well as a backlit keyboard, an HD webcam, and Dolby Advanced Audio.
There are 2 USB ports including one USB 3.0 port, a full-sized Ethernet jack, an HDMI port, SD card slot, and a fingerprint scanner.
HP is positioning the ultrabook as a product for consumers or business users.
