HP will have more TouchPads to sell soon

HP may have discontinued production of the HP TouchPad tablet… and virtually every retailer in the US that was carrying the tablet sold out almost immediately after marking down the prices to $99 for the 16GB model and $149 for the 32GB model this weekend. But there’s still hope for those that have been getting their hands on HP’s suddenly popular tablet.
According to HP spokesperson Bryna Corcoran, the company will have more in stock early this week. While HP isn’t making any more, the company may still get some in stock from stores that are returning tablets or from manufacturers that still have units left to ship.
You can sign up to receive an email notification when more units are in stock — although HP has been having trouble keeping that page running due to heavy demand. I also suspect that the company will sell through any remaining stock rather quickly.
Meanwhile, the discounted HP TouchPad pricing has started to roll out around the globe in countries including Germany, France, Australia, and the UK.
Update: Due to overwhelming demand, HP is no longer accepting new email addresses for notifications.
Update 2: Instead, HP recommends following Bryna Corcoran on Twitter for updates. Her follower count has kind of exploded in the last day or two.
