There are plenty of companies that will sell you gizmos for mounting your phone or tablet in an automobile. But in a pinch, you can rig something up yourself.

That’s what reddit member imightbethatguy discovered on a recent long distance journey. He brought along an Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet to entertain the kids in the back seat, but forgot to buy velcro to firmly attach the tablet to a car seat or another surface. So he grabbed some packing tape, a DVD case, and the rest was history.

Sure, it’s not pretty, but neither are three un-entertained kids driving on a road trip.

What’s the wackiest DIY mounting solution you’ve ever tried?”
