The MSI WindPad Enjoy 10 is a budget Android tablet which could sell for $299 or less. But it looks like you get what you pay for. The tablet showed up at the FCC website this week and according to the user manual the WindPad Enjoy 10 has 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, Android 2.3 operating system, and a ridiculously low screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels even though the tablet has a nice big 10 inch capacitive touchscreen display.
There’s also only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space, and most of that’s used by the system so that users only get 1.2GB to work with.
The good news is the tablet can support 1080p HD video playback in a variety of formats including MP4, Xvid, DiVX, and H.264. Still, at a time when tablets with Google Android 3.x Honeycomb, dual core processors, and 1280 x 800 pixel displays are the norm, the WindPad Enjoy looks kind of… cheap. Hopefully the price turns out to be far below $299, not just a little below.
MSI’s tablet has front and rear cameras, an SD card slot, USB port, and 802.11b/g/n WiFi. MSI estimates the battery should be good for about 5 hours of video playback or web browsing.
Some of these specifications could be incorrect. When MSI introduced the tablet in May we had heard that it would have a 1024 x 768 pixel display and 1.2 GHz processor.
