Asus Eee Pad SL101 slides into the FCC

Asus Eee Pad Slider

The Asus Eee Pad Slider is due out in Poland next month, and while Asus North America hasn’t announced a US launch date yet, it’s already up for pre-order at some stores in the States. Now the Slider has shown up at the FCC website, which is a pretty good indication that launch day is drawing closer.

The Asus Eee Pad Slider SL101 is an Android tablet with a slide-out keyboard that hides away behind the screen when you’re not using it. The keyboard is a little smaller than the one you get with Asus Eee Pad Transformer, and there’s no touchpad. But the Transformer’s keyboard dock is an optional, detachable accessory. The Slider’s keyboard is part of the tablet and it stays with the device wherever you take it.

The Slider has a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, and an 8 hour battery. It features front and rear cameras, GPS, WiFi, and HDMI output. It will be available with 16GB to 32GB of storage.
