Hackers have been installing rooting the Motorola XOOM and installing custom kernels with support for overclocking for months. But now the first cooked ROM is available for the tablet, offering a complete replacement for the firmware that ships with the XOOM.
The Tiamat XOOM ROM 1.0 is pre-rooted and provides a number of featues out of the box including:
- SU, superuser and busybox
- SMS capabilities
- USB mass storage
- WiFi Ad-Hoc mode
- A browser hack that will display full desktop views of web pages by default
The ROM also comes with a couple of apps preloaded including Adobe Flash Player and a file explorer.
The software is based on the firmware from the Verizon 3G Â version of the Motorola tablet, but it should work on the WiFi version as well.
