First Android 3.1 custom ROM for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer

Asus Eee Pad Transformer with Android 3.1

Asus starts rolling out an over the air Android 3.1 update for the Eee Pad Transformer today. But a leaked copy had already hit the web this weekend and xda-developers forum member Roach2010 has already taken the software apart and put it back together in the first custom ROM with Android 3.1 Honeycomb for the Asus tablet.

The PRIMORDIAL 3.1 ROM doesn’t have many bells and whistles yet. At this point its primary claim to fame is that it will allow you to install Android 3.1 on your tablet a little early. But it also comes pre-rooted with Busybox and SU installed. Roach2010 also added a custom boot animation and a tweak to improve SD card speeds.

Android 3.1 comes with a few improvements over Google Android 3.0 including faster graphics performance and resizable home screen widgets
