Asus is set to introduce several new products at the Computex trade show in Taiwan beginning next week. In advance of that, Asus has begun posting teaser images and details on Facebook and at TechinStyle.tv. First up is an Asus tablet which Asus says has never been seen before.
The company isn’t sharing many details. We don’t know what processor, operating system, or screen size the new tablet will have. In fact, on Facebook Asus asks the question “Pad or Phone,” suggesting that the tablet may not really be a tablet. It could be a big phone… or maybe it’s a tablet with a detachable phone?
Anyway, you can check out a few more images after the break.
Asus promises to release more details on upcoming products on May 25th, 27th, and 29th.
While Asus plans to introduce new products at Computex it may be a while before they actually hit the streets. Asus introduced four tablet devices at CES in January, and so far only the Eee Slate and Eee Pad Transformer are available for purchase. The Eee Pad Slider and Eee Pad MeMo are still nowhere to be seen.
So far, anything anyone has released has been to compete against the iPad. If Apple put a tablet out with a stylus, there wouldn’t be much left for anyone to do. If Apple released one with dual screens and a stylus, then everyone else would have to just hang it up. Game over.
