A few days ago we saw evidence that Asus was working on a software update for the Eee Pad Transformer that would bring Google Android 3.1 to the tablet. Now Asus has posted confirmation on the company’s Italian Facebook page.

According to Asus, an over-the-air update will be available for all Transformer users. The company will announce the release date in early June.

Meanwhile This is My Next is reporting that the Acer Iconia Tab A500 will also get an over-the-air update soon.

Google Android 3.1 doesn’t look all that different from Android 3.0.1, but it brings a handful of improvements including better hardware graphics acceleration, resizeable home screen widgets, an improved recent apps switcher, and new web browser Quick Controls features.

You can check out my hands-on video with Android 3.1 on the Motorola XOOM after the break.
