Seagate has introduced a new line of 2.5 inch portable hard drives which are just 9mm thick — or about as thick as a pencil (or an iPad 2). The Seagate GoFlex Slim is the thinnest portable hard drive of its type offered by Seagate, and it also weighs less than 0.4 pounds. The new GoFlex hard drive is available as a 320GB, 7200RPM hard drive with a USB 3.0 interface for about $100.

Of course, you can find higher capacity portable hard drives for less money, but if you like the idea of a hard drive that slips easily into your pocket without taking up too much space, they don’t get much thinner than this.

The folks at GottaBeMobile are giving away a 320GB GoFlex Slim drive if you want to try your luck at winning one.
