Pandigital Novel Android eReader on sale for $60 at Kohl’s

If you’re OK with a little hacking and don’t care if your Android tablet has a white shell, get down to your local Kohl’s store as soon as possible.

The retailer has put Pandigital Novel eReaders on sale for $59.99 — around 75% off. The Novel might not be the fastest, most stylish Android device you can buy, but this price is just too good to pass up. $60 won’t even buy you a decent touchscreen MP3 player, nevermind a full-blown tablet device. Heck, we thought it was a pretty decent purchase at $179 back in July.

Sounds like these are flying off the shelves, so you’d better buy first and deal with the teensy amount of remorse you might feel later.

Update: Kohl’s is no longer offering the tablet for $60, but you can still pick one up for a pretty good price (around $100) at these retailers:

  • Newegg
  • Amazon
  • Adorama

I picked up two of these last night.

Both were used. One still had personal
info on it. The other was returned due to the obvious extremely bright green hot pixel. One is going back.

I found two in my local Kohl’s store this morning. They offered great service helping me find them. Both were new in the box. I can’t wait to get home tonight and start tweaking firmware.

In for two. (one for myself, the other for my brother on the other side of the country) charged, custom firmware, tweaked….

  • Ftambonejr124

why tweak the software in these?

Got one, new….it looks like a little fun. Already installed a tweak of Pandigital’s own root kit software converting it into a “regular” android tablet. It won’t let you access the market so today I’m hoping to be able to load some apps from the sd card.

  • Peter G

Yes, loads apps from sd card with no difficulty. Certainly worth $60!

I picked one up used as well, can’t seem to get it to “set up” — any suggestions on resetting it? The reset button didn’t work.
