Online storage service Box.net is one of dozens of online storage service that offers users a small amount of disk space for free and a larger amount for a fee. It’s also one of the best, allowing users to do things like share links with contacts, sync files with your desktop, access your files on a mobile device, view Office documents and some other files without leaving your browser, and collaborate with other users on shared documents.
Up until recently, Box.net offered users 1GB of data for free, with the ability to pay for a subscription that would give them 15GB of disk space. Now the free plan has been increased to 5GB. The paid plans? They’ve been bumped up too.
$10 per month will get you 25GB of disk space, while a $20/month plan gets you 50GB. You can also sign up for business plans with 500GB of storage for $15 per month per user, or enterprise accounts with “unlimited” storage for $35 per user per month.
The only thing to keep in mind is that even though free accounts now come with 5GB of disk space, there’s a file size limit of 25MB unless you sign up for a paid account which lets you upload larger files. You can find complete pricing details at Box.net.
