LG wants in on the Android tablet market

Not to be outdone by… well, pretty much every other PC maker around, LG has announced that it too will be launching a tablet computer this year.

The LG tablet will reportedly run Google Android and should be out in the fourth quarter of 2010.

LG already makes a line of smartphones running Google Andorid 2.1. The company’s Optimus Z phones have 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and are currently available in South Korea. There’s a fair to decent chance that the company’s Android tablet will feature similar specs — although if it’s not due out until later this year, it might ship with Android 2.2 Froyo or even Android 3.0 Gingerbread.
