Inside the Smartbook Surfer

  • Email

Just in case you needed any more evidence that the Smartbook Surfer 7 inch Android tablet now shipping in Germany is basically the same device as the Augen GenTouch78 tablet available in the US, one customer decided to take the back panel off of his Surfer and see what he could see.

And what he saw was a tablet that looks pretty darn similar to the Augen GenTouch78 on the inside.

Both machines have Telechips TCC8902 ARM-based processors, an Atheros R6000 WiFi chip, onboard RAM, a microSDHC card slot, headphone jack, and mini USB port. On the other hand, the mini HDMI port on the Smartbook Surfer actually seems to be enabled. That port is covered over on the GenTouch78.

You can find more photos at Kapejod.
