Lexar’s Echo SE Backup line of USB flash drives may not look special, But they ship with software that can automatically back up files from your computer without any intervention required. That’s the sort of functionality you usually see on USB hard drives, not thumb drives, and I’m not sure I’d really want a 16GB or 32GB drive to spend its time trying to back up my data.
But Lexar has just launched a new model that comes with a whopping 128GB of storage. That should be more than enough space to backup pretty much every file most people keep on a netbook, since many netbooks come with 160GB or smaller hard drives.
The only catch? this thing will set you back nearly $350… or roughly the price of a netbook. Still, it’s a heck of a lot more portable than carrying a second computer around to backup the files from your primary netbook. And hopefully the price will come down… eventually.
