You know VIA promised that we’d start to see tablets sell for $100 to $200 soon? Well those tablets might not be available at your local Best Buy just yet, but they are real products and VIA is showing off a number of them at its booth at Computex. Engadget grabbed some face time with the tablets, all of which seem to have 7 inch displays and VIA’s WonderMedia WM8505 ARM 9-based CPU.

For the most part, these tablets are made of cheap plastic and running Google Android 1.6. But what more did you expect from a sub-$200 tablet?

Interestingly Engadget’s Joann Stern reports VIA is also showing off a few smartbooks with WM8605 processors, Android 2.1, and QWERTY keyboards. You can find more photos at Engadget. Unfortunately I didn’t see any photos of the smartbooks.
