Samsung tablet rumors: Android 2.2 and a 1.2GHz CPU

Remember that 7 inch tablet Samsung showed us a few weeks ago? You know, the one that showed up on the company’s South African Twitter feed and then promptly disappeared? Well, Samsung isn’t really talking about the 7 inch Samsung tablet these days, but the folks at tinh te claim to shave some new information about it.

I’m taking the report with a grain of salt for now, but there’s nothing in it that seems out of the realm of possibility. For instance, the tablet will reportedly have a 1.2GHz ARM A8-based processor, run Google Android 2.2 Froyo, pack 16GB of storage, and have a 4,000mAh battery. The tablet will likely have an MOLED display and weigh about 0.8 pounds.

Tinh te also reports that the tablet will be called the Samsung Galaxy Tab or Galaxy Tape, or something like that. And it could ship with built in eBook and magazine software.
