Archos 5 tablet update adds OpenGL support for 3D gaming

The Archos 5 Internet tablet is a pretty good portable media player and a halfway decent web browsing device. But up until recently it wasn’t exactly the best Android product around for playing video games. But now Archos has pushed out a software update that adds support for OpenGL, which means that the Archos 5 can handle 3D games including Speed Forge 3D.

You can check out a video of the Archos 5 running the new firmware (and some video games) after the break.

The new firmware is available for download from the Archos support site.
