Asus Eee PC R101 shows up in Germany

The Asus Eee PC R101 is basically a rebranded version of the Eee PC 1001PX for the German market. In other words, it’s one of the cheapest netbooks in the Asus lineup, but it still offers all the basics we’ve come to expect including a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 250Gb hard drive. It has a 4400mAh battery which should run for up to 9.5 hours.

The laptop runs Windows 7 Starter Edition and has 2 USB ports instead of the usual 3. It supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and measures 10.3″ x 7″ x 1.4″.

Eee PC News.de notes that the netbook is now available for pre-order from NotebooksBilliger.de for 299 Euros, or about $380 US. Interestingly, while the Eee PC 1001PX is one of the cheapest netbooks available in the US, there are actually a number of less expensive options available in Germany.

I am not a big fan of the cross design but it looks nice from the front angle. Do you have any pictures from a different angle?
