Onkyo introduces TV tuner-toting nettop, netbook

Onkyo is launching two new products in Japan. Both are smaller than a full sized computer. And both feature low power Intel Atom processors, TV tuners, and AM/FM radios. Unfortunately, neither will likely be available in the US anytime soon. First, Onkyo doesn’t tend to sell its products in the hemisphere I happen to call home. And second, the TV tuners in these computers will only work with Japan’s digital TV system.

If you’re still interested in the specs, the Onkyo DC212 netbook has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter Edition, and a 3 cell battery. It sells for about $480.

The Onkyo DP312 nettop has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, NVIDIA ION graphics, 2GB of RAM, and a 320G hard drive. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium and has 802.1b/g/n WiFi, HDMI output, a wireless keyboard and mouse and a remote control and sells for about $700.

You can find more information about both computers at the Onkyo web site (PDF link).
