Italian Ekoore ET10TA tablet PC with Ubuntu Linux

  • Email

Windows tablets, Google Android tablets, the iPad. We’ve heard a lot of talk about tablets over the last few months. Here’s one that’s a little different. The Ekoore ET10TA looks like a typical Windows tablet, complete with a 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor. But it ships with a choice of Windows or Ubuntu Linux.

Interestingly, the tech specs say the tablet runs Windows XP Home Edition, but the tablet is available for purchase with a choice of Ubuntu Linux or a trial version of Windows 7. By loading the trial version of Windows instead of a full version, Ekoore is offering the Windows and Linux versions of the ET10TA tablet in Italy for the same price: €479, or about $638 US.

The tablet comes with 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and includes 802.11b/g/ WiFi, Ethernet, 3 USB ports, a flash card reader, mic and headphone jacks, and a VGA output. It has a 3500mAh battery. The Ekoore ET10TA measures 11″ x 7.1″ x 0.9″ and weighs about 2.2 pounds.

You can check out a video overview of the tablet after the break.

    Wow!

I'll buy one if this is brought to the US or India. (Would need English instead of Italian) :)
