Well, that’s one way to sell a notebook

The Gigabyte Booktop M1305 is a 13 inch notebook that comes with a docking station that lets you effectively use the laptop as if it were a desktop by quickly and easily plugging in a mouse, keyboard, monitor, and other peripherals. It’s basically the larger version of the 10 inch Booktop M1022.

The idea is that the notebook is more useful when you stick it into the dock. So to promote the “stick it in” concept, Gigabyte is running a campaign in Taiwan showing another popular “stick it in” action: people sticking their fingers in their nose. Because umm… well, really I don’t know why.

It’s not exactly the kind of campaign that’s going to appeal to everyone. but who knows, maybe it will go over well in Taiwan.

This can be done with pretty much any netbook with at least 2 USB ports, and a VGA or DVI-out. I just use a keyboard and a mouse with the lid closed. I don't see how this is more convenient.

The idea behind most docking stations is that you can leave all of your
peripherals plugged into the dock instead of your PC. That means you can
just grab your notebook and go, and connect it to all of your peripherals in
just a few seconds instead of by connecting each device one by one.

If all you're using is a mouse, you definitely don't need a dock. If you're
using a mouse, keyboard, display, printer, external speakers, and a
scanner… this could definitely be a time-saver.

But you're right, you don't *need* a dock to do those things.

Old docking systems where very expensive and many laptops had the port on the bottom. But like the other have said there are other pays.
I would rather plud in a few usb cables than spend $100 or more for a dock.
I also think the guy picking his insult might be an insult to us Americans.
I don't care that much but it does show a lack of class.

according to the poster above, what makes the docking station special is that it has a built-in graphic card, so it's more about improving the performance.

Personally, I would not want a product that had that kind of advertisement. As with another reply, they have a causasion instead of some one Asian which would imply a slam against non-Asians.

hahaha – that's me in that picture. Lesson learned… never sell stock images of yourself doing anything embarrassing, because they will almost always come back someday to haunt you.
