The Mini 5 is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for!

I will always have a laptop for full-feature portable computing, so I’m not looking an ipad-sized tablet, and I certainly don’t want to bother with device that has no camera and doesn’t make phone calls. But, in addition to the assorted shortcomings, such as lack of flash, I find the iphone screen too small. I’ve seen comments that suggest the Mini 5 is “too big” for people to want to use it as a phone — frankly, I believe that to be a ridiculous assessment.

The iphone is too small to be an effective intermediate computing device, while with the ipad’s size you might as well bring your laptop/netbook. The Mini 5 is the perfect size for easy portability (it will easily fit in my jacket’s inside pocket), and with phone capability, it allows users replace a device instead of forcing them to add one. Moreover, we now have a hands-free law here in Ontario, so I've had to get a bluetooth headset, which I use all the time, even with my tiny clamshell.

How do you think this will be a hit? Who wants a larger smartphone? In my opinion these are just tech gadgets that only techie people will purchase to only use for a couple of months and then it goes in the unused gadget drawer. I understand the craze for slate like devices however i truly believe especially in U.S. consumers are not as quick to try out or adapt to new technologies or venture in the realm of unfamiliarity as they are in other countries and all the hype surrounding the slate computer design is just that, hype and nothing more. I am willing to bet that this time next year slate computers will be on CNET's list of "The Tech That Never Was"

Mark my words, this will be a great hit. The only Smartphone people are going to talk about would be the Mini 5 or the potential smaller or bigger one which they might come out with.

You see, most people are into brands. Let us face this as a fact. Very few people are interested with those funny name brands. People want stablility and long term support knowing that the company would be there years after they have bought their unit.

At the end of the day, it boils down to Apple, Dell, HTC, Asus, Sony, Lenovo and Acer.
