At this point I'd rather look into a good SSD with TRIM if I'm going to pay a little extra for storage on my netbook. That way you get the speed of a SSD, the consistent speed with over the life of the drive with TRIM, and all the energy savings associated with not spinning a disc. I do not think it will do well when the price of the hard drive costs more than most netbooks do.
