Nokia Booklet 3G gets temporary price cut to $200 + contract

  • Email

For the next few weeks you’ll be able to pick up a Nokia Booklet 3G for $199.99 when you sign up for a 2-year data plan with AT&T. That’s $100 off the normal price for this 10 inch mini-laptop with an Intel Atom Z530 processor, GMA 500 graphics, and Windows 7 Starter Edition.

The Booklet 3G hasn’t gotten stellar reviews. The Z530 processor makes the machine feel a bit more sluggish than your typical netbook with an Intel Atom N270 or N280 processor. But the GMA 500 graphics feature 720p HD video acceleration and the computer has an HDMI output. It also gets about 10 hours of battery life, has integrated GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, and a 3G modem for use on the go.

At $199.99, the Booklet 3G is also competitive price-wise with a number of other 3G-enabled netbooks available from Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and other wireless providers. Bear in mind, that price only covers the up front cost. Over the course of a 2-year contract, you’ll have to shell out up to $60 per month for service, bringing the total cost to $1640 over 2 years.

The promotional pricing runs from today through “the holidays,” whatever that means.

I would rather pay the extra $100 and have a 'pay as you go' type data service; which, IMO – would be cheaper in the long run. It does seem like a nice pc.

I wish these were zippier. I've played with one at a Best Buy, and the build quality seems fantastic. 10 hrs battery life is a really compelling feature, assuming the rest of the package makes sense.

Hoping Nokia can come out with a 2nd gen product soon — keep the build quality, but add more oomph please.

(In the meantime, I picked up a Thinkpad x200s with a CULV — 6 hrs battery, 64bit cpu. A good fit for my needs today.)

Adjusting your diet to a healthier way of eating is a way to lose belly fat without dieting that works for many people. Instead of putting yourself on a restrictive and often unsafe diet, you can try adjusting the way you eat. Instead of five cookies, maybe have one small slice of low fat angel food cake. Simple exchanges like that will provide you with a way of eating that will keep you healthy your entire life.
