XP can do everything Windows 7 can do. Infact, for most people, there is really not much improvement as most people just use their PCs to surf the Internet.

I think it is wrong to say XP is outdated or old. Most people still keep their five or ten year old cars and yet it serves them well. Nobody runs and gets the latest model car just because it has been announced.

So why is it when a new OS comes about, everybody gets excited and say that they will always want the latest and most recent stuff.

It is the principle of the thing. Deliberately crippling a complete OS so you can compete with other low price or free OSes while maintaining higher prices on the complete OS just sits wrong with me. I will not support such tactics. YMMV

While XP is old and doesn't have anymore programs developed for it, calling it obsolete is a bit of an exaggeration. For the average user there's nothing Windows 7 or Vista can do that Windows XP can't. It just more a minimalistic OS when compared to all the bells and whistles Windows 7 has.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind having 7 starter edition on my netbook if it keeps the price low. I have a desktop and full-sized laptop for hardcore multitasking. Although I understand that a lot of people can't afford having 3 computes and have to use the netbook for everything. But personally I'd take an version of Window 7 over XP, why run an obsolete operating system.

In Asia, the MSI netbook is hardly talked about now. I feel sad about this cause MSI and Asus really started this whole netbook thing rolling. I hope MSI starts back marketing their netbooks aggresively.

To me, of all the netbooks, MSI still has the best looking machine. The U210 is so perfect, sadly, battery life is crap.
